Acts 20:28 “Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.”
1 Corinthians 1:2 “Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours.”

The Church of God in Tulsa is a congregation of the church of God mentioned in these and numerous other verses throughout the New Testament. We are a group of saints that are part of the bride of Christ, which “he hath purchased with his own blood.” The church of God is made up of all people who have truly been saved from their sins. Salvation through Jesus Christ is the only thing that can put people into God’s church (Acts 2:47), and sin is the only thing that can put them out (Exodus 32:33). Jesus Christ’s death made possible our justification, the new birth experience that makes people a new creature (2 Corinthians 5:17), and it also made possible the entire sanctification of the heart, a second work of grace that purifies the heart of the carnal nature and fills the heart with the Holy Ghost (1 Thessalonians 4:3, Acts 1:8, Acts 15:8-9, Hebrews 10:14-16). The Holy Spirit does not come with a particular gift or feeling, but produces a life of consistent holiness (Ephesians 4:24, 1 Thessalonians 3:13, 1 Thessalonians 4:7-8, Romans 6:19-23). When people get the experiences of justification and sanctification working in their lives, they can be in unity with one another (Ephesians 4:1-14, John 13:35).

1 John 3:8 “He that committeth sin is of the devil…”
1 John 3:9 “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin…”

Unfortunately, most people do not accept the truth that is so clearly taught in the verses above. The Bible teaches in numerous verses that saved people do not continue to commit sin. There are many verses quoted on this website under the scriptures page. Jesus taught people to “go, and sin no more” (John 8:11), and we believe that what Jesus taught is both possible and required for us to make it to heaven. We welcome you to come hear how God can deliver you from all sin, making you a member of His glorious church!
